Fun Facts
In my free time I love playing tennis, I love to read on the beach and travel the globe. I have been to 3 different continents.
Some day I hope to go sky diving and travel to Australia and walk across the Sydney Bridge. I enjoy skiing, swimming, biking, hiking, and making a difference in the world around me.
About Me
I have a bachelors degree. I have been teaching for the past 18 years and every day is a new day for me. I graduated college on the Dean's List. I am certified in the Wilson Reading Program. In the 18 years of my teaching career I have taught grades
Prek-8. I also have 10 years of private tutoring.
Experience
I have worked in public school for the past 18 years. Prior to that I worked at a Montessori School. I have also worked at different camps that are for kids who need extended school year.
I have also worked at different after care programs, where I have supported many different children with either homework and helping them engage in active play with other children.
Approach
Growing up I hated school and never wanted to go. Then I was diagnosed with sever dyslexia. When I was finally able to read and do math I knew I was able to take on the world and I did with every ounce of energy I had. I graduated high school with honor, and then college on the Dean's List.
Being a teacher is so important to me because I want to give kids who struggle with learning the courage and the chance to feel like they can do something, and teach them never to give up.

I am currently working in a 6, 7, and 8th grade English class and reading several classic novels. I have created character list sheets for the books being read, and have helped several students write papers that go along with the books. We have also read and learned about poetry.
Over the past 3 years, my students have become very successful in English classes. They never thought that they would see and A on a paper, but then it happened they got that A, and they smiled like they were given the entire world.
