Fun Facts

One fun fact about me is I attended a music school in high school. My choir competed and won dozens of competitions and I always maintained my GPA high. I was also a part of my high school's cheerleading and track team. One of my best qualities is my dependability. I have received a lot of opportunities because I'm known for being responsible and dependable.

About Me

My name is Gabrielle and I am currently an alumni of CUNY Lehman College. I majored in Psychology with a minor in Therapeutic Recreation. I graduated with a 3.6 GPA in my major field of study. I am hoping to be able to get a position in working with children, specifically children with disabilities, in a school setting. I am aiming for a Masters in Psychology and hoping to be able to provide counseling services to children with disabilities and their families.

Experience

I was previously a bronx">tutor for Champion Learning Center and I loved it. I had an opportunity to meet some amazing kids. It felt really good to meet a child who was struggling, in sometimes more than one area, and see how their overall confidence improved as they learned and got better at the subject(s) in question.

Approach

When I meet a student, I first see what are his or her strengths and weaknesses. Once I've pinpointed those, I focus of strengthening the weaknesses, while also making time for his or her strengths to maintain confidence high. I get to know the student so they feel comfortable asking questions. I listen to his or her needs and try my very best to fulfill them.
