Fun Facts
I'm a bit of a nomad. When someone asks me where I am from, it is never an easy answer. Growing up, I spent my life moving internationally. My father was a U.S. diplomat. These opportunities to learn about new cultures and lifestyles helped broaden my perspective. At the same time, I had a fair amount of culture shock and being the new kid. Overall, those are experiences I am deeply grateful for as they taught me appreciation of differences and how to look at problems from a new lens.
About Me
I am a school psychologist, certified in identifying and supporting students' learning needs. I have extensive experience working with students from preschool through high school of varying needs and abilities. I am highly knowledgable in using evidence-based interventions to support learning, including developing executive functioning skills.
Experience
I am currently working full-time as a school psychologist. I have tutored students since I was in college, working as a peer tutor. I am passionate about helping students succeed and build the necessary skills to be independent. Working as a tutor provides me with an opportunity to share my knowledge and expertise in intervention and learning to help students achieve their potential.
Approach
Like many teenagers,I didn't always think I was smart & compared myself to my peers. It took me until college to recognize my full potential. Once I began to gain confidence in myself as a learner, I flourished. I bring this insight when working with students. I am specialized in evaluating learning profiles. Through my work I have learned is that each person has their own strengths and weaknesses. Being smart is learning how to harness your strengths & develop strategies for areas of weakness.
