Fun Facts
Since I was a kid, I always had a knack for art. I like drawing and painting realistically, and I'm pretty good at it. I also do Hellenic dancing. My Greek Orthodox church does a Greek festival every year. It is my favorite time of year because I get to perform Hellenic dances and express and share my culture.
About Me
I am a New Orleans local, and a sophomore at Tulane University. I am majoring in Neuroscience and Sociology, and am on full tuition scholarship. I have a younger brother and am familiar with the types of problems that arise with elementary and middle school work. I also tutored in 6th grade math and am currently an ESL tutor. The approach to teaching that I take will be based on what the student wants, combined with tips or advice that I wish I had known.
Experience
As an older sibling, I grew up helping a younger student. I would help my brother with elementary and middle school math and science. I also tutored a girl last year in sixth grade math.
Approach
I was always top of my class in elementary and middle school. I attended the top high school in my state and am on full tuition scholarship for college. I have a lot of skills and knowledge that I feel I can share to help those struggling in certain areas. I've also seen my younger brother struggle a lot with school, so I know the areas that need focus and have successful solutions and tips.

Neuroscience
Algebra Tutoring
I've taken math courses through calculus 2. I've only ever gotten A's in math (with the exception of 2 B's in high school). I was always in honors and gifted classes and tested above average compared to my peers. I am a neuroscience major, and have always felt more comfortable with math and science my whole life.
Biology AP Tutoring
Being a neuroscience major, I have come across the same material from high school biology many times. I took regular biology and AP biology in high school. My freshman year of college, I took cellular and molecular biology, and am currently taking brain and behavior. I had A's in high school biology and B+ in cellular and molecular biology.
English Tutoring
In high school, I was in gifted english courses. I also took AP English Literature and Composition. I've gotten A's and B's in english courses. I am very good at essay corrections and grammar. I scored near perfect on english grammar portions of standardized testing.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring
Reading comprehension was my weak point in middle school and high school. But I have greatly improved since then. I did always test above average and only got A's in middle school, but I was a slow reader and would miss certain concepts in reading. However, I had very good teachers and have since strengthened my reading comprehension, and can give tips on how to do so, too.
Science Tutoring
Currently, I am a neuroscience major, so I have had my fair share of science classes. I've taken biology, physics, chemistry, and AP biology in high school. In college, so far I have taken chemistry 1 and 2, cellular and molecular biology, and am currently in organic chemistry. In high school, I won first place in the science fair. Overall, I have an affinity for the sciences.

Being a college sophomore, I've had many years to learn the do's and don'ts of studying, and what works best. I am doing a double major and have a part time job, but I also have good grades. I know how to balance my schedule, and have tips and tricks for younger ones on how to stay organized and study efficiently.
ACT English Tutoring
I was always in honors and gifted english classes. I never got below an A. Grammar and writing were my particular strong points. I tested high above average on standardized testing, and always got good grades on essays and research papers. I've gotten 34 and 35's on the english section each time I've taken the ACT.
ACT Math Tutoring
I've taken math courses through calculus 2. I've only ever gotten A's in math (with the exception of 2 B's in high school). I was always in honors and gifted classes and tested above average compared to my peers. I got a 29 on the ACT math.
ACT Science Tutoring
I have extensive experience with the science material on the ACT, as I am a science major. Most of it is just interpreting data, which I am particularly good at. I got 33's and 34's on the science portion of the ACT.
