Fun Facts

I am 18 years old and is a Vietnamese-American. I am athletic and outgoing. I like to dance, play basketball, watch movies, cook, bake, and listen to music. I may be awkward and a little shy at first, but after a while you will know how great of a person I am. People who I worked with in the past find that I am hard working and cannot be disturbed when I'm focused.

About Me

I am a freshman in University of Massachusetts Boston. I am majoring in Business Management and will transfer to Information Technology next semester. I am planning to get my Masters Degree at boston-university">Boston University in a few years and start looking for my own career path from there. I received an overall GPA of about 3.6 during my high school years therefore, I am striving for a higher average GPA throughout my college life.

I was once a junior counselor and an assistant director for a summer camp called Boston Refugee Youth Enrichment (BRYE). I was trained for curriculum development and classroom strategies. I participated in decision making for the program. My duties were to teach students English, American culture, and assist Senior Counselors. During the year, I tutored students who are struggling with classes and also work as a homework boston">tutor. I tutored kids from BRYE and kids from CASP (Cambridge After School Program). I worked as a boston">tutor for 3 summers and it was the best experience I had throughout my careers.

My goal as a boston">tutor is to help my students strengthen their weaknesses and provide them skills. I wish to give them a learning experience that is both entertaining and easy to learn. From my past experiences as a boston">tutor, I did not help my students learn because I kept on giving them answers. I did not have patience. After awhile, my senior counselor taught me how I should guide them to solutions and be patient. After many teaching experiences, I learned what it really is to teach and how to have fun from both teaching and learning. I hope to have this opportunity to apply what I experiences from the past years and to help these students improve in their academics.
