Fun Facts
I enjoy doing crafts of all sorts- from adult coloring books to throwing pottery to painting. And I am also a lover of books. I don't always read the books I buy, but I LOVE books, bookstores, used bookstores, libraries, and any discussion remotely related to a book. My favorite currently is the Elena Ferrante fiction series translated from Italian.
About Me
I graduated in 2016 from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Unfortunately, it took me longer than anticipated to finish my degree due to some health issues. That provided me time to be at home in North Carolina working at Starbucks and taking classes in my major part-time. Eventually, I would like to write scientific grants for nonprofit organizations. To this end, I am taking an online course through Stanford.
Experience
I tutored high school homeschoolers algebra I and II, trigonometry, basic science courses, statistics, and precalculus all through my college years. I love tutoring. The one on one environment is a joy for me- I just pray it is for them. I will never forget one of my best and sweetest girls just staring at her watch over and over when I was grading a precalculus test.
Approach
I want my students to gain confidence through learning. Learning is a means to propel a student into their passions or career goals. I want it to give my students the ability to pursue lifestyle or goals they want to pursue in the future. I want them to be able to look forward with confidence. I want my students to love what they are doing and find what they love.

Arts Tutoring
I was one course short of being an art minor in college. My strengths include painting with acrylics and hand thrown pottery. My passion for art drives me into my daily life with books everywhere, and I have studied for trips in the U.S. I have taken Art History I and II in college.
Biology I Tutoring
Biology has been my core focus since middle school, with a love for science in my blood. With both my parents in the sciences, I love it myself. I took everything from plant taxonomy to microbiology to molecular biology in college. There probably wasn't anything offered I didn't take or don't plan on taking! Truly! It's my baby. :-)
Biology II Tutoring
As a continuation of Biology I I will just reiterate that Biology has always been my passion and inbred in who I am. I want to teach it well. I want to pass on love of animals and further the scientific community, write papers, and do anything I can to keep these discoveries coming!
Environmental Science Tutoring
In college, I took ecology and marine science. Both were enjoyable and different classes for me. I'd be interested to hear what you need help in in this area.
Math Tutoring
My enthusiasm for math is strong, so if you can handle that, then I might be the right fit for you. I am strong in algebra, and probably secondarily in calculus and statistics.
Microbiology Tutoring
Taken as a very slightly older student, I believe I was at an advantage. I took this class in the last few years at Meredith college with emphasis on practical application. I have perhaps too much enthusiasm for a student who is struggling, but I will do my best to tone it down and not wear my microbe necklace on our sessions. :-)
Nutrition Tutoring
Nutrition is a broad and controversial topic and am interested to know your needs in this area.
Algebra Tutoring
If your high school student can withstand my great enthusiasm for algebra, I might be a great fit. I love algebra and aced this class, teaching fellow classmates all through. I was a Valedictorian.
Algebra II Tutoring
I was a Valedictorian, and Algebra II is a passion. Hopefully my energy won't overtake you!
Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
A great class, the dissections are great! I was a biology major in college, so a great class for me to teach in high school.
Biology Tutoring
My major in college and my "baby." I love biology. I live and breath Pubmed to growing orchids, to breeding fish. ALL OF IT!
Geometry Tutoring
I love math! A great subject that I was taught with a "bridge project" summing up our knowledge. I would enjoy teaching it, and am willing to learn the subject more again as it has been awhile.
