Fun Facts

Every one who knows me, knows I love Beyonce. I am one of her biggest fans and have been to almost all of her concerts. Also, even though I can't swim, I love water. I love going to pools, beaches, and waterparks. There is something about the water that calms life down. I love that feeling.

About Me

I am a sophomore Public Relations major, Spanish minor at Howard University. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. When I graduate in two years with my degree, I would like to work as a Public Relations executive for a multimedia company.

Experience

As a mentor at my hometown church, I have always stressed the importance of education. When I got to Howard, I had the opportunity to work with Jumpstart, an organization that offers literacy, language and social emotional supplements to pre-school students in under-resourced communities. I was really able to see the impact I was making at Jumpstart and it is my hope I can make even a bigger impact working as a tutor for Frog Tutoring.

Approach

Growing up, I struggled a lot with math. I was very reserved and never really spoke up when it came to where I was having an issue. I also felt invisible to a lot of my teachers just because there were so many students. As a tutor, obviously I want to focus on the academics, but I also want to help my student(s) with self-esteem. I believe when one has better self-esteem and really truly think that they are capable of learning a particular subject, they can learn it.
