Fun Facts

I enjoy music and music history, primarily rap and hip hop. Being from New York, I am heavily influenced by 90s rap and hip hop artists, such as Biggie Smalls and Wu Tang Clan.

About Me

I am a junior at Howard University studying English, Graphic Design, and Sociology. After my undergraduate studies, I plan to become a teacher in English Literature and Art for middle school to high school students. I also aspire to own a music magazine, much like Fader and Complex.

Experience

I have experience in being a retail sales associate at various locations, such as Best Buy and Aeropostale. I also have experience in child care and homework help with my work as a mentor in the Bison Buddies program at a local Boys and Girls Club.

Approach

My favorite approach is speaking to my students in way that they understand. Growing up, I realized that the conventional methods of memorization and repetition will give students the ability to regurgitate information, but they, more often times than not, do not fully grasp the information they are memorizing. I try to appease to their likes and tastes and cater my teaching style to that specific student.
