Fun Facts
I love to travel! A large portion of my bucket list involves traveling nationally & internationally to gain my own perspective of the world. Most places that I've visited are potential vacation spots, but there aren't many places I could see myself calling home. It's about more than just being in a different place, I really love connecting with people and having unique experiences. I buy my mom coffee mugs on every trip and it has become the coolest way to track where I've been.
About Me
I graduated from charlotte">UNC Charlotte in May 2016. I completed my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish. I completed my entire Spanish Minor abroad in Santander, Spain - one of the best experiences of my life.
I'm the oldest of my siblings, and have always been responsible for teaching, mentoring, and inspiring my family. As a first-generation college student, I'm paving the way for many young people who will follow in my footsteps.
Experience
I've served as a tutor since my freshman year of high school, helping students of all ages, grade levels, and subjects. My best subjects are English & Spanish, but I have experience in practically every category.
In addition to tutoring, I had the opportunity to serve as Program Director for 2 years for a non-profit leadership organization for high school girls. That has been my most profound working experience as I learned a lot, poured into young people, and made great community connections.
Approach
The students I've worked with describe me as creative, engaging, knowledgeable, and fun. It's a priority to me that students enjoy learning and see fun ways to study and retain information. Students in my care will feel confident, supported, and eager about the work they do.

Psychology
Spanish Tutoring
I've been studying and teaching Spanish since middle school. I studied abroad in Spain for one semester where I gained Spanish fluency.
English Tutoring
In high school I took AP English. I believe it helped me better prepare for college. The class was a mixture of literature and composition. In college, I took four English classes and gained an A in every class. I have also earned As in all my critical thinking and writing courses.

Spanish II Tutoring
I took a placement test my freshman year at UNC Charlotte that allowed me to skip Spanish I & II, however, I served as a tutor in both subjects throughout all four of my collegiate years.
Study Skills Tutoring
By evaluating each student's learning style, I'm able to provide helpful best tips, tools, and techniques that will enable them to retain information. As an anxious test-taker myself, I've gotten very creative with study skills that best help each individual student.
Writing Tutoring
I have taken composition courses and critical thinking and writing classes in college and have earned all As.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I've served as a homework coach for 4+ years. Incorporating creative study skills and building confidence is my key strategy to improving at-home and classroom performance.
Pre Algebra Tutoring
I've taken Pre-Algebra courses since middle school and never earned less than a B.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
Reading comprehension is one of my strongest skills. I'm an avid reader and enjoy pulling a part sentences and stanzas to gain a better understanding of the text.
Trigonometry Tutoring
I took Trigonometry my sophomore year of high school and made a 93% grade average in the course.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I've been tutoring students from elementary through middle school in math for over 10 years. Most times, students simply need someone to explain the instructions and the assignment to them and help them work through it. Other times, students know how to do it, they just need a boost in confidence to do well.
