Fun Facts

I love to travel and explore new cultures! I studied abroad in Ghana and Spain, and this past year, I lived in Ghana, where I learned how to make local foods and I learned how to speak the local language! I also love community service, and I volunteer with a mentoring program that works with girls in grades 3-5 on female empowerment!

About Me

I am a Paraprofessional with 1st graders in the Boston Public Schools district, where I assist the teacher in making lesson plans, and I give individualized instruction. I was previously a Project Manager with an ethical fashion social enterprise in Accra, Ghana, where I worked to empower local artisans through fashion!

Experience

As a paraprofessional, I currently give individualized instruction to first-grade students on varying academic levels. While in college, I tutored younger students in courses I had previously taken, and while studying abroad in Madrid, Spain, I taught English classes to university students. As a high school tutor, I tutored fellow high schoolers in Algebra, Calculus, Chemistry, and Spanish. I also tutored middle school students in math, life and earth sciences, and Spanish.

Approach

As a tutor, I believe it is important to help students realize their potential through positive encouragement, and logical and efficient problem-solving steps to help them better understand content. I use this strategy, along with other learning materials, to help students better grasp material, remain positive, and become better students.
