Fun Facts
When I am not immersed in science, I love spending any free time playing the drums or scuba diving off of Fort Lauderdale beach. In the evenings, I enjoy practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu to help take the edge off of a mentally rigorous day. Someday, I want to base jump using a wingsuit!
About Me
I received my BSc. from Nova Southeastern University, where I majored in biology with a minor in chemistry. During my time as an undergraduate I maintained a 3.70 GPA and was a Dean's List recipient for all four years. I am currently a graduate student at Florida Atlantic University working on a Master's in chemistry (3.61 GPA), with a focus in chemical biology and synthetic carbohydrate chemistry.
Experience
During my senior year in college I began working as the Lead Biochemistry Lab Assistant, where I was responsible for teaching proper laboratory techniques and concepts in biochemistry. As a graduate, I spent two years working as an Organic Chemistry Graduate Teaching Assistant, where I was responsible for instructing and supervising students in the Organic Chemistry teaching laboratories, demonstrating and teaching proper laboratory techniques as well as concepts in organic chemistry.
Approach
As someone who grew up with ADHD, I know first hand how rigid, monotonous, modern school systems can be. As such, over the last few years I began to adopt an interactive, guided inquiry approach with my students. Often, the journey is more fruitful than the destination and learning is not any different. Instead of focusing on the correct solution to a question, I like to have my students focus on the incorrect solutions and understand what makes such solutions incorrect.

I have taken undergraduate biochemistry, graduate advanced biochemistry, and graduate chemical biology. All of these courses were completed with the grade of an A. I taught biochemistry labs for one year at NSU, and much of my thesis work resides in the field of biochemistry.
Biology I Tutoring
I completed Biology I with a B+. This course is simply a general overview of various fields within biology and an introduction into upper biology coursework. Given that my Bachelor's is in biology, I have successfully completed these upper division courses. As such, I can efficiently convey all information for this introductory course.
Chemistry Advance Tutoring
Given that I am completing an advanced degree in chemistry, I have demonstrated mastery over the upper division chemistry courses and as such, can efficiently convey all information within this course.
