Did you know the foundations of statistics comes from specifically from genetics and generally from biology.
I have taught at the college level: genetics, statistics, biology, anatomy, physiology, ecology, data analysis. Did you also know that in this age of genomes, the amounts of data are huge and that means scientists like myself have to use computer programming languages like Python, and statistical tools like R?
I enjoy teaching and envisage that no matter what job I will be doing in future I will continue to teach part time. My strength lies in an innate ability cultivated and refined over the years to connect with my audience regardless of their age, generation or cultural background. Always be respectful, and I will always be respectful. One of my teaching mottos: how would I explain a complex topic to my mother, father, or child.
My teaching advice: Ask questions, restate your understanding and reveal your knowledge, lack of it, and misunderstandings. This is the only way a teacher can come in and fix the errors in understanding.
Experience
I teach all the time, adults and kids who are willing to learn gravitate to me. I have taught university and college courses, and interns in my lab.
Approach
My process encourages discussion and debate, but most importantly instills in the students the need to listen to all perspectives, and to respond coherently with reason.
