I LOVE data modeling and learning new recipes! Although I haven't gone swing dancing in a while, I absolutely love it when I do. I also love to go horseback riding, skydiving and exploring new places. I used to be a recording engineer in the music business but I am now a data modeler for a huge bank and I love every blessed thing about it.

About Me

Last August, I graduated from California State University - Long Beach with a Master of Science in Applied Statistics. My undergrad is in Applied Mathematics and my specialty is machine learning. I hope to change the way banks monitor customer transactions for various financial crimes by being on the leading edge of robotiks and other machine learning techniques.

Experience

I have tutored students of all ages for the past 3 years in many different areas of mathematics. My emphasis is Statistics and it's my hope that my students will come to me about this subject. However, I still hold a deep love and appreciation for mathematical disciplines outside of statistics (algebra, calculus, linear algebra, the works) and I'll gladly revisit those subjects on demand.

Approach

When i was in grade school and junior college, I struggled with mathematics. Every concept was tough and I suffered through the material. Because it did not come to me easily, I'm able to better connect with students who are also struggling. I use humor and personal experience to give them hope, make them laugh and (hopefully) have a better relationship with math.
