Fun Facts
One passion people learn about me is that I am an avid tennis and basketball player. If I am not studying or working, I am usually on the tennis or basketball court. I have moved from Arkansas to California to Texas to Louisiana, and have found that each state is special.
About Me
Currently, I am pursuing a M.S. in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in biochemistry and molecular biology at Tulane University School of Medicine. Interestingly, I was originally pursuing an B.S. in Mathematics; however, I quickly fell in love with the complexity of the life sciences, especially the human body! Ultimately, I aim to attend medical school so I can further my passion in understanding the human body's intricacies, and to one day serve diverse communities as a physician.
Experience
As an undergrad, I was an academic tutor at Trio, a federally-funded program that supports socioeconomically disadvantaged college students. I tutored these students in the several subjects. In addition, I mentored a group of students in creating an academic timeline and exploring prospective careers in the biomedical sciences. From this experience, I realized my passion for teaching, and working for Frog Tutoring gives me the opportunity to positively impact the lives of many students!
Approach
Throughout early schooling, I had always found math and science subjects to be difficult. In high school, I was fortunate to have had teachers who, through encouragement and persistence, explained difficult topics in a manner that I could relate to by articulating in simple and translatable terms. As a tutor, I attempt to bring a similar attitude and approach to all of my sessions; by deconstructing topics into digestible pieces, I aim to effectively communicate even the most difficult topics!
