Fun Facts
I enjoy stories in every form: books, movies, myths, oral tales, etc. Up until college, I played all kinds of sports, especially rowing, and never took a season off. I love all kinds of music and I have a tendency to sing and dance often, though I know I am terrible. I always laugh a lot and people can't ever help but join in. I love all kinds of culture and food, and someday soon, I hope to travel the world.
About Me
I am a junior Biomedical Engineering student at Virginia Commonwealth University with a 3.0 GPA. I am part of a professional engineering fraternity, Theta Tau, that prides ourselves in networking and working towards our goals together as engineers. My goal is to gain a PhD in neuroscience and work on human to computer interfaces in regards to prosthesis.
Experience
In high school, as a Teacher's Assistant, I taught my own TV Production weekend class of 3rd-6th graders and aided in the 7th-12 graders class. Since college, I have become more confident in Math, Science and English and I am currently working as a Substitute Teacher in Arlington Public Schools in all subject areas. I love learning and want others to enjoy it as much as I do since I believe that everyone should strive high and have all the necessary skills to reach their goals.
Approach
As an only child and a first-generation, I had to work and study hard to make sure I could attend college. Tutoring my peers was great practice for me with the little time I had to study after working days. Since my time in college, I have understood the value of staying positive in all situations and I will bring that attitude in all my sessions along with the motto to keep moving forward and ask questions until they feel 150% confident in what they are learning.

Homework Coach Tutoring
I am currently working as a Substitute Teacher for Arlington Public Schools and have been working with teachers to assign and grade homework. I have learned how to adapt homework assignments and problems to the students needs and abilities.
Middle School Math Tutoring
Since I currently am in University and seeking a Math minor, I can confidently say I am excellent in basic middle school math. Even if I can understand complex problems, looking back and practicing the basic problems is beneficial moving forward. I am a big supporter of visual learning and practice makes perfect. I will make sure to be patient and think of colorful and real world examples students can wrap their heads around to understand the number problems and understand multiple ways of approaching all problems.

I am excellent as Word since I have written all kinds of research papers, both for English courses and as Science and Engineering lap reports. I have utilized graphs, data plots and format structures in all of my papers.
Video Production Tutoring
I have been a student, competitor and Teacher Assistant in TV production throughout all of high School. I have spent the last two year as a Student Resource Manager for the VCU Robertson School of Media and Culture, managing the equipment student's use and aiding them in their broadcast projects.
