About Me

I graduated with a 3.92 GPA from chicago">Loyola University Chicago. I studied economics and political science with a minor in philosophy. I was on the Deans list every semester I was at Loyola. I graduated with Honors in Political Science. The political science department awarded me the Woelfl Award for Academic Excellence. I represented Loyola as a Student Delegate at Student Conference on U.S. Affairs at West Point Military Academy. I received the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship.

Experience

I have worked with kids of all ages and education levels. I currently nanny two 8 year olds and one 9 year old and help with all of their homework. I have worked at the Chicago debate league summer camp for four years. During that time I spend one summer teaching at the middle school camp and three summers teaching at the high school camp. I was a teaching assistant at the Northwestern Center for Academic Excellence. I have two younger sisters aged 11 and 17 and tutor them as well.

Approach

I struggled a lot at academic in high school but graduated at the top of my class in college. I realized that in high school I didn't have the support I needed to succeed and I decided i was just "dumb". My approach is to identify the areas that the kid is struggling with. Then break down that problem into the basics. Often the biggest problem is not having a solid foundation. Then we would work our way to resolve the problem and be ready to succeed when we solve more complex problems.
