Fun Facts
The best part of living in Idaho is the opportunity to be outdoors! I love going on adventures and hiking with my dog Hunter. We enjoy exploring new trails and meeting other dogs and humans! I also enjoy dancing, reading a good book, and spending time with my grandkids! One day I hope to have a big RV to travel around to all 50 states with my grandkids!
About Me
I am a credentialed elementary school teacher in the state of Idaho. I am licensed to teach K-8th grades. I've taught for six years in the public school system including two years at a charter school. I have a Master's Degree in Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies. My passion is to work with kids to help them achieve their educational goals!
Experience
Before I became a certified teacher, I held many jobs working with children. I worked as an ESL tutor with AmeriCorps while going to Sonoma State University. The school was completely bilingual. The students were learning how to speak and read in English while continuing to speak their native languages. I currently teach online students English who live in other countries and work privately for a family tutoring a third grade student who has fallen behind in his reading skills.
Approach
As a child, I struggled in school. When I went to college, I had the same experience. I've always been the student who needed to spend extra time studying at home or learning from a tutor. Because I've taught in the public school system, I understand that there are many students who need that extra support. Working at Frog Tutoring will give me the opportunity to impact the lives of those students and give them the confidence they need to push through their challenges!
