About Me
I am a first year graduate student at boston-university">Boston University where I am getting my Masters in Biomedical Forensic Sciences. I graduated magna cum laude from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Chemistry and a minor in Biological Sciences. Upon getting my graduate degree, I hope to work in a crime laboratory as a forensic chemist.
During high school, I tutored a few middle school students in their math classes. I found it such a rewarding experience because I was able to help students understand a subject I thoroughly enjoyed when I was younger. As a senior in college, I became a teaching assistant for a general genetics course. I led weekly help sessions for students where I answered their questions and helped them with extra worksheets for the class.
For the math classes, I start out by going through the problems step by step, guiding them through the process. Then, as the student attempts more problems, I give them less and less help until they can complete the problem on their own. With science classes, I work on the understanding of the processes or facts and try to explain them in a way that is better for the student. When I was a student, I was never taught how to study. As a boston">tutor, I would like to pass on the new skills I've accumulated through a rigorous, science filled curriculum.
