About Me

I graduated from fresno-state-university">Fresno State University in May 2013, where I earned my B.S in Animal Science, with a Production Management option in Equine Science. My cumulative GPA is 3.63 and my major GPA is 4.0. I have been on the Dean's List four times and the President's List once. Currently, I have decided to pursue my teaching credential in high school biology.

I have tutored fellow classmates in Biology, Genetics, Anatomy and Physiology of Animals, Infectious Disease of Animals, Environment, Stable Management, Equine Nutrition and Equine Management. My classmates saw marked improvement on their exam and assignment scores and gained a deeper understanding of the concepts as well. I would adjust my fresno">tutoring approach depending on their needs, and enjoyed reviewing all of the information with them.

In classes, I always felt intimidated in front of other students and when asked by the teacher if I understood the current subject, I would pretend that I did. My approach to fresno">tutoring is to guide the student to find the answers on their own through questioning and drawing on the previous knowledge that they have gained from the class. This focuses on a positive approach, as I want to always boost the student's confidence in the class. I also incorporate studying methods that work with the child's way of thinking, whether it is using flash cards, drawing diagrams/flow charts or (depending on the subject) simply oral question and answer.
