Fun Facts

I am an Arizona-bred girl who loves the desert and the heat. I am passionate about music, and play piano, guitar, drums, and sing. I am a very active person! I love to hike, run, do yoga, and take my dog Marshall to the park (he's the love of my life). I also love to spend my free time cooking or baking, reading, watching movies, and spending time with family.

About Me

I am a senior at the University of Arizona, majoring in Family Studies and Human Development with a minor in Business Administration. I have a 4.0 GPA, and I am in the Honor's College. I work as a facilitator for a leadership program on campus, where I give workshops to students on various aspects of leadership. I am also a Research Assistant, working with a group of faculty members in the Family Studies Department. My plan for after graduation is to attend law school, and my career goal is to be a family attorney.

I currently tucson">tutor college students for an oceanography class that is taught on campus, where I meet with a group of students once a week to discuss and go over the homework assignments. Last semester, I worked with the Junior Achievement program at a local middle school, where I went into the classroom to teach history to a remedial reading class of sixth to eighth graders, serving as a mentor as well as a teacher/tucson">tutor. I have tutored in one on one settings and with groups, and I have found each and every experience to be very rewarding.

As a student myself, I know that there is a huge difference between being told the correct answer and coming to find the correct answer for yourself. Through my experiences as a tucson">tutor, mentor and workshop facilitator, I have come to find the value in asking probing questions and letting students come to their own conclusions. As a tucson">tutor, I act as a guide through the learning process, being conscious of each individual's learning style and tailoring my teaching methods to fit. I strive to create excitement about learning, and to spark inspiration for education and the subject matter at hand.
