Fun Facts

I love to read! It is honestly my favorite thing to do. Once I find a good book, I have to finish it. I'll lose track of time reading books. I prefer series books because they expand upon the universe, giving the characters more substance. I also enjoy working out and being active in general, going to the field to play sports with my friends.

About Me

I am an alumni of Florida International University, receiving my Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology. I have always done well in school due to my ability to retain information, whether it is spoken to me by a teacher or from my own self study. I prefer self study so I can move at my own pace and use my teachers and their notes as supplements. My ultimate goal is to start my own school where I can teach students alternative ways than the traditional classroom how to study!

Experience

I currently work as a Registered Behavior Analyst at Positive Behavior Supports where I implement behavior intervention plans to improve the quality of life of my clients and their families. I typically work with students with autism and other developmental/learning disabilities so my specialization is in the special needs community. My job from time to time entails a bit of tutoring so I use techniques created for therapy to teach those taught to be unteachable.

Approach

I have always been able to retain information regardless of the method it was given to me so I never struggled in school. I realized that others do not have this same ability so when I am asked to help other people study, I show the techniques I use to learn somewhat difficult concepts such as include writing notes down in a fun and interesting way (drawing, etc) and relating material to a tangible, relevant thing. I am always positive and supportive so my students feel confident in their abilty
