I LOVE to cook! I enjoy the process of creating something from scratch and seeing it through to completion - it isn't always a success but I love the opportunity to try new things. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling and reading.

About Me

I am currently a classroom teacher who has taught at the elementary level for the past 11 years (all subjects) in Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD. When I was in college I was on the track to be in the medical field until I took a part-time job with America Reads. I immediately fell in love with tutoring and teaching children and looked forward to the opportunity to meet with my student each day. It is tutoring that first opened my heart to the joy of teaching and one on one and small group instruction is still my favorite part of the day.

Experience

I have been a classroom teacher for the past 11 years, 9 of those years being in a STAAR grade. I have also taught summer school for struggling students up to 5th grade as well as tutored my own students after school. Working for Frog Tutoring gives me the opportunity to do what I enjoy most - teaching students in a smaller setting where I can help them build their confidence and achieve their academic goals.

Approach

I believe that a positive relationship between child and teacher is foundational to growth. We all learn best from those who we genuinely enjoy and who we know genuinely enjoy us. I attempt with each student to build a positive relationship through encouragement, patience and support to pave the way for students to build their confidence and meet their targeted academic goals as well as create a passion for students to become life-long learners.
