Fun Facts
Ever since I was a little kid I have always had a strong interest in math and science, and as an adult I have a tendency to bring up random but relevant scientific facts in almost any conversation. I have a twin sister, and her worst subjects have always been math and science, with her strengths leaning more towards the arts. I'm from Argentina, and according to family stories, a distant relative was one of the geologists that discovered the Perito Moreno Glacier, coincidently I studied geology.
About Me
I have a Bachelors of Science in Geosciences and I am currently concluding the first year of my Masters of Science in Geology with a focus in Hydrogeology at FIU. I was a high school Marine Science and Biology teacher and i hold a Florida professional teaching certificate in the areas of Earth and Space K-12, as well as Middle Grades (5-9) General science. I was one course shy of a minor in math during my undergrad but I completed up to Calculus 3, and Ordinary Differential Equations.
Experience
I have over 2.5 years experience teaching full time in a classroom and have tutored many friends in the subjects of math and science. I really enjoyed teaching and was very good at it, but I decided to quit teaching full time in order to continue my education since my class schedule would have overlapped with my work schedule. Working for Frog tutoring would allow me to continue to polish my teaching skills, while helping students work towards success with a more flexible schedule
Approach
Since elementary school I have always loved learning and going to class, and I never had any difficulty with any specific subject. This allowed me to finish my work quickly, as well as correctly, and I would always help those around me. I believe that a supportive environment, with open dialogue and regular discussions, as well as visual representations, are not only necessary for the student to learn subject mater and study skills, but also for teachers to learn about their students.
