Fun Facts
I moved seven times from ages 1 to 12, which actually led to me taking Latin in middle school since there were no advance Spanish classes offered. I was a gymnast growing up and tried a number of sports in high school. Cross country stuck, and I still enjoy running today. I recently completed my first half marathon, and it was a blast! I enjoy reading, watching too much Netflix, and spending time outdoors.
About Me
I am a freelance writer who enjoys tutoring. I graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt with a B.A. in Classics and Interdisciplinary English and History. I received High Honors for my English thesis on Jane Eyre, and I won the Frank A. Woods Award, which is given to a graduating senior with the highest History gpa. I was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and other honor societies throughout college. As you can see, I really love humanities and would like to share that passion with students.
Experience
I worked for two years as a Peer Writing Consultant at the Vanderbilt Writing Studio. I've been tutoring high school and college students in a variety of subjects since 2015.
Approach
I enjoy working with diverse clientele to foster discussions about the subject, and my job depends upon my ability to adapt to suit the needs of each individual. To do so, I ask a few questions at the beginning of the session to find out what the student needs. From there, I develop a lesson plan, which I adapt as I learn new information. My goal is to teach students how to tackle specific assignments and exams by not only teaching content but how to learn, which they can apply to all classes.

English Tutoring
I have taken a number of English Literature courses from Shakespeare and Literary Theory to The Eighteenth-Century Novel. I was accepted as part of the English honors program and received High Honors for my thesis on Jane Eyre. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA in English.

I worked for two years at the Vanderbilt Writing Studio and am very familiar with graduate-level writing from dissertations to journal articles.

I studied History at Vanderbilt and earned a 4.0 GPA. I specialized in Ancient Rome and the Victorian period. I received the Frank A. Woods award for having the highest GPA of graduating seniors. I was a part of Phi Alpha Theta, a National History Honor Society.
