Fun Facts
I grew up in southern California and played golf everyday after school. I am also an incredibly musical person and I think about music 24/7. I compose orchestral, electronic, and jazz music and I love performing at weddings, bars, and various social events. I also ski whenever I get the chance and love to meditate.
About Me
I am a music composition and performance major at Lewis and Clark College. I have been on the deans list every semester in addition to being a member of four musical ensembles and a music teacher and performer outside of school. I plan to teach for a year or two and then pursue a Masters of Music Education.
Experience
In addition to being highly involved in the music department at Lewis and Clark College, I am an honors student in all subjects and teach music to thirteen different elementary schools in the Portland area. I was the T/A of the electronic music department at Lewis and Clark, and an appraised new student orientation leader. I strike up conversations in Chinese wherever I go, and I am especially talented in math and music theory.
Approach
Learning should be fun, and the more engaged a student is the more likely they are to benefit from the lesson. In high school I became easily bored in class and my mind wandered as I couldn't stay focused. After my mom found me tutor that I loved working with, I made significant progress because he made learning fun. My goal is to make my students want to learn, and I love to help students generate their own strategies and problem solving skills.

Music
Arts Tutoring
As an avid performer and composer, I often help other students in music, art, and videography. I have volunteered to be the teaching assistant of the electronic music program.
Music Theory Tutoring
I have done incredibly well in my music theory courses and I have a naturally good sense of rhythm, tempo, and pitch. I have made many compositions and taken every theory course offered at Lewis and Clark college.

I have taken up to 300 level Chinese speaking, writing, and conversation courses at Lewis and Clark college and I am currently in a mandarin communication class to continue practicing my skills.
Writing Tutoring
Writing is required for almost every course at Lewis and Clark College, and my professors have used my papers as leading examples for future courses multiple times.

I work with kids often when I teach, and I have developed many strategies to help maintain focus and productivity.

I have played hundreds of professional shows over the years ranging from weddings, concert series, house bands, TED X, bars, and school events. I have worked with many students and I have lots of teaching experience. I will teach whatever the student wants to learn.. Jazz, Rock, Funk... anything. Concert band percussion is also offered as I have been the lead percussionist for the Lewis and Clark Wind Symphony for 4 years

I have had an incredible ear my entire life and I love working with other students. I have received an A in ear training in every music theory course at Lewis and Clark College.
