Fun Facts
My main two passions are dancing and spoken word poetry. In my free time, I am either writing/editing a poem or choreographing a dance. I frequent hip-hop class and open mics around the Portland area.
About Me
I am a senior Biochemistry/Molecular Biology major at Lewis & Clark College. I've spent the majority of my senior year as a research assistant intern for a lab in OHSU, focusing on micro RNAs. After graduation, I plan to work as a research assistant, full time, at OHSU for a few years before applying to graduate school to pursue a PhD.
Experience
Through Lewis & Clark College, I spent the majority of my junior and senior tutoring at the tutoring center, as well as one-on-one tutoring. I also was a TA in multiple lab courses and weekly applied learning sessions attached to the class. I would aid students in working through challenge questions that synthesized concepts from lab and the course. Throughout my time in college, I have always had a tutor in various courses and intimately understand the benefits of tutoring.
Approach
I have had a tutor for various subjects all throughout my highschool and college career. Since I started tutoring, I really try to work with people to start from place "can", start from what you DO know. I understand the material can be extremely challenging, so I try to bring a calm, warm and positive vibe to my sessions. I attempt to help my tutees develop practical thought process that will guide them as they attempt to navigate problems/concepts.

Biochemistry Tutoring
I have taken Structural Biochemistry, Metabolic Biochemistry, and Biochemistry lab. I have received an A in all of the classes. I personally found these classes to be hard, but extremely rewarding and found myself deeply enjoying the material over time.

I have taken Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biomechanics, Molecular biology lab, and Cell Biology lab. I have received an A and high B's in all of these classes. These classes provided the base for which I did research at OHSU.
