You'll be quick to discover that I am a huge music lover. Any time I am working at my desk alone, you are guaranteed to find me playing all different genres of music in the background. I am currently working from home and teaching myself to code in Python!
About Me
I am a graduate from the portland">University of Portland with majors in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics. This fall I will be beginning grad school to get a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering and work in the field of medical technology.
Experience
Through high school, I frequently tutored my peers in math and science classes, as I earned A's in all of these subjects. I have also volunteered at an after-school homework help program for K-6 kids, so I definitely have experience being a patient tutor! I most commonly tutor Calculus, but I am flexible to teach all levels of math. Working at Frog Tutoring allows me to get back into one of my main hobbies of teaching and helping students succeed!
Approach
In my experience, I have had my share of very good teachers, and very bad teachers. As such, I have a good understanding of which teaching techniques work, and which don't. Because of this I am very sympathetic of students' struggles in the classroom when they feel the teacher has not adequately prepared the students for homework and exams. I am a huge proponent of inquiry-based learning in my tutoring sessions, which emphasizes the student's role in critical thinking and problem solving!
