Fun Facts
I am passionate about anything that has to do with the environment! Because of this, I usually spend my weekends hiking in the Everglades or kayaking in the Florida Keys.
About Me
I am a senior at Florida International University. I am majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Chemistry. I plan on attending graduate school to earn either a Masters or Ph.D in Environmental Studies.
Experience
Ever since I was in high school, I would tutor fellow classmates to aid in their success. Being part of many clubs, such as the Science National Honor Society and the Math Honor Society, I constantly tutored students of all levels. I brought that experience with me to my University and would help with study sessions for Biology, Chemistry (Chemistry I to Organic Chemistry II). I have also spent my time volunteering with an organization called Alternative Breaks.
Approach
Throughout my high school years, I had absolutely no idea what I was going to study in University, much less what I wanted to have as a career. It wasn't until senior year of high school when I took AICE Environmental Science. The information relayed to me by an amazing teacher taught me that we need to do all we can to preserve the natural areas of Earth.

Environmental Studies
Biology Tutoring
I have taken Biology in middle school and high school and received A's. I also took this class in university and received A's and B's in these upper division based courses. This subject is directly related with my major, since the natural sciences are key to understanding to overall dynamics of the environment.
Chemistry Tutoring
I have taken Chemistry in high school and university where i received A's and B's. I have also taken Organic Chemistry and earned A's in both the lecture and the labs. I enjoyed these classes so much that i decided to minor in chemistry to expand my understanding on the dynamics of the environment.
Science Tutoring
Ever since i was a child, I have always had an interest in learning about the sciences. I would seek out as many science classes as I could, and became part of the Science National Honor Society in high school. I have consistently earned A's and B's in my science classes and continue to have an enormous interest in them. Even now, I still participate in research opportunities with ecologists to help them learn more about the environment.
Spanish Tutoring
Throughout middle school and high school, I took Spanish classes for Spanish speakers every year and always received A's. This allowed me to practice my Spanish through all of these years. Spanish was my first language, and can be vital in being able to communicate with many people.
Microsoft Excel Tutoring
I have used Excel throughout my entire university career. More specifically, when performing field experiments and studies, I would compile the data through Excel and present it to my peers.The use of Excel is vital to my field of interest because of the fact that any data provided from research needs to be displayed in a clear, concise way.
Microsoft PowerPoint Tutoring
I have been using this program since Elementary school, therefore I am well versed in the mechanics of it. Even to this day, I have to make PowerPoint presentations at least 5 times a semester. I constantly use it to present any data i may have collected during research.
Microsoft Word Tutoring
I have also used this program since Elementary school, and still use it during my university career. I used this program every day of the semester and have a high expertise with it. This program is also constantly used in my field in order to construct scientific research papers.
