Fun Facts
I have a very cute and fun dog named Tito! You can find us running together, playing fetch or cuddling on the couch. I also was a competitive swimmer, and swam the 100 & 200 yard butterfly at the collegiate level. I am currently training for my second marathon and look forward to pushing myself again!
About Me
I am currently a health care administrator at Rush University Medical Center. I graduated with a degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. After that, I attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham to receive my Master's in Healthcare Administration. I enjoy dedicating my career to serving the health care staff that serve the patient directly.
Experience
I have extensive tutoring experience. In college, I worked as a private tutor for kids in the local San Antonio area. I tutored students in math, SAT and ACT prep. After that, I worked as I tutor in Phoenix, Arizona where I worked with kids on all subjects, mostly focusing on math & science. I love teaching chemistry and algebra! I also have worked with kids as a swim instructor, a swim coach and a soccer coach. I love interacting with kiddos & teaching them new skills brings me joy!
Approach
I always meet kids where they are at. I get an understanding of their current knowledge and identify the gaps. I try to encourage students to be vocal about where they are struggling and ask questions to help them gain understanding. I try to not give them answers but encourage them to critically think about problems. This way students are picking up on problem solving skills that can help them tackle their next challenge.
