Fun Facts
A fact that many people may not know is that I am from the Caribbean! I am from the island of St.Thomas from the U.S Virgin Islands. The island of St.Thomas holds one of the top ten beaches in the world!
About Me
I am an alumni of the tampa">University of Tampa. I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I aspire to be matriculated into medical school and to become an orthopaedic surgeon.
Experience
I have experience assisting students with their questions and concerns while working as an Organic Chemistry Lab Mentor. I was responsible for supervising the students and enforcing lab safety rules. I also assisted students with performing laboratory techniques such as Infrared spectroscopy, Thin Layer Chromatography, and Elution Chromatography. Furthermore, I assisted the students with interpreting the data and why each step was crucial in their experiment protocol.
Approach
Throughout my life as a student, I have encountered classes in which I was unable to comprehend the material. However, after receiving help from my peers and from professors during office hours, I was able to unlock my potential and perform at optimal levels. I enjoyed that feeling of unlocking my hidden potential after receiving help and I would like to assist others in unlocking their hidden potential. As an Organic Chemistry Lab Mentor, I enjoyed assisting the students with their questions.

Biology
Microbiology Tutoring
I even high B's on my exam and understood the material. I was able to assist my girlfriend with study habits and little tricks to assist in learning the subject. This was one of my favorite classes and I am willing to assist others to obtain the passion I have for this class
Biochemistry Tutoring
I received an AB (A-) in this course and was 10 points shy of an A in the course. I visited my professor's office hours weekly so I have a thorough understanding of the material. Additionally, I got an 87 on the ACS final exam and assisted my girlfriend and other members of the study group with explanations if they did not understand the material. I am very confident in this subject and I am willing to assist others with study skills and study habits to earn an A in this course.
Organic Chemistry I Tutoring
I assisted students with their lab procedures and explained why each step was necessary when conducting their experiment's protocol. I was also able to interpret the results and explain why they arrived at the results that they received. I was able to interpret the Infrared Spectroscopy(IR) data, Proton NMR, Carbon 13 NMR, Elution Chromatography, Vacuum Filtration, Thin Layer Chromatography, and Gas Chromatography. Additionally, I got an A on my ACS Final Exam and received a B in the class. Though I may have gotten a B in the class, my understanding of the material was demonstrated on the cumulative final exam.Furthermore, I have assisted other students with studying and they received an A in the course.
Organic Chemistry II Tutoring
I was a Lab mentor for Organic Chemistry II as well and assisted students with their questions and concerns about the laboratory techniques. I assisted students with interpreting and demonstrating how to do Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), NMR( Carbon and Proton), Elution Chromatography, Mixed Melting Point, Gas Chromatography, and Thin Layer Chromatography. Additionally, I assisted the students with understanding the laboratory techniques and why each step and chemical reagent was important in the prootcol.
