Fun Facts
I love baking (especially cookies), reading mystery novels and watching documentaries. I'm a huge fan of both college and pro football and love nothing more than the Minnesota Vikings!
About Me
I am a junior criminal justice and sociology double major (with minors in political science and legal studies) at the delaware">University of Delaware. I currently have a 3.8 GPA and have been on the Dean's List all four of my semesters at UD. I work as a Peer Tutor at the UD Writing Center and have had a research paper published in the 2017-18 Arak Journal.
Experience
As a Peer Tutor, I spent a semester getting trained on how to help students with their academic writing and have officially been working for one semester so far. I also assist high school and middle school students with their writing at weekly Youth in Government meetings and during the HenMUN conference. I volunteered with the Delaware Museum of Natural History for two years and have also volunteered with programs like the Boys and Girls Club and the Nemours Children's hospital.
Approach
I have always loved writing, but I grew up in a house with family members who were more math-oriented, which made me realize how difficult it can be to learn certain subjects. Because of this, my tutoring approach is enthusiastic and supportive, with a focus on positive reinforcement and guiding students to the answers that they usually know, they just aren't sure how to express. I have also learned strong time management and study skills in college that I love to share.

Study Skills Tutoring
I believe that my 3.85 GPA speaks strongly for me here. I was not a super strong high school student, but when I came to college I became ultra confident in my abilities as a student and my test taking abilities. I have never had below a 3.7 GPA in a semester or cumulatively.
My approach to studying usually involves other people. I am a big proponent of flash cards, group studying and 'brain dumps.' I also work on a reward system, which I believe is the best way to improve learning and the desire to study.
