Fun Facts
I love fitness and working out! Through middle school and high school, I learned Taekwondo, and eventually became both a black belt and a student instructor. I also know conversational Korean, and love learning new languages!
About Me
I am a Junior at Brown University, studying Computational Biology. I am interested in genetics, bioinformatics, and global health! I hope to improve access to health care and reduce inequalities in medical care.
Experience
Throughout high school, I worked as a student instructor for Taekwondo. I led both group classes and one-on-one sessions, and have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds. During high school, I also tutored students in Chemistry and Algebra. In college, I have volunteered to teach civics and community engagement to middle school classes in the Providence area! I love working with students and watching them grow.
Approach
As a tutor, the most important thing is to be flexible! All students learn differently and it is up to us to work with the students in a way that is engaging and fun! I love using metaphors and real life examples to make abstract concepts more accessible to students. I'm not the type to give out answers; I want to push students to think through problems and come to the answers themselves. I not only want to teach content, but critical thinking skills as well!
