I love creative writing, and I enjoy both reading and writing stories. I also like card games, board games, and playing pool. I don't really play sports, but I do have a martial arts black belt.

About Me

I am a Graduate Student studying History at UTSA. I have a Bachelor's in History already, and I hope to one day be a History teacher. I would like to teach at the high school level.

Experience

My mother is a former teacher, as well as a tutor. Growing up, I had the chance to observe her work, and at times assist her in tutoring. The subjects varied, but I was able to get a feel for the friendly environment a tutor should provide, as well as for creative methods of helping the pupils master the material, such as games and mnemonic devices.

Approach

I believe students should be taught the basic principles or ideas behind what they're learning, so that they can apply the knowledge more broadly. Students need to understand more than just the facts, so I would like to help them learn to truly understand and apply the material for themselves.
