Fun Facts

I love exercising, including doing yoga, running, step aerobics, and hiking. I am also crazy about reading and creative writing. If I'm not doing one of those things, you can find my hanging out with my dog by the pool.

About Me

I am a recent graduate of a Master of Publishing and Communications degree from the University of Melbourne, the top university in Australia. I have experience writing and editing corporate blogs and social media, books, literary magazines, academic research reports, and journalistic articles. Previous to my Master's degree, I was an English major at the University of Texas at Austin where I graduated with Liberal Arts Honors.

Experience

In my Master's program, I learned the skills necessary to edit people's writing. I also have experience editing classmates' writing throughout my undergraduate degree. I have limited experience with one-on-one tutoring, but think that it would come very naturally to me as an editor who loves watching people grow and develop as writers. It would be such a great experience working one-on-one with a student and helping them achieve that 'A-ha!' moment. I can't think of anything more rewarding

Approach

Good teachers and tutors have patience and dedication when it comes to their students. I was not always the best writer, but I had one teacher who noticed my grammatical problems in high school and asked me to stay after school to work with him. It meant the world to me that he identified my weaknesses and was willing to work with me over time, and without judgement, to improve them. I will similarly work diligently and kindly with my students to ensure they overcome their greatest weaknesses
