Fun Facts
I am a very positive person. I am passionate about my culture and teaching Spanish is greatly gratifying. I have two beautiful daughters. I love dancing. I work at a University and love to assist students in every way possible. Seeing someone succeed and knowing I had a bit to do with it is very rewarding.
About Me
I am a graduate of Southern Methodist University. I have a Bachelor's in Spanish with a minor in Latin American Studies. I also have a Master's Degree from SMU in Dispute Resolution. I have worked at SMU for 16 years now. I work in the Student Financials Office assisting students with payment plans, refunding and financial literacy.
Experience
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish. My second language is Spanish. I volunteer for the Susan G. Komen Organization to assist non-English speaking woman fill out doctors paperwork. I also work at H&R Block during tax season and asst Spanish speaking customers understand what it is required of them. I continue to be very close to my professors at SMU. In fact, Prof. Veronica Leon referred me to Frog Tutoring.
Approach
My parents migrated to the United States not knowing a word of English. As a child, I was expected to translate to wherever they went and they did not understand. I want to teach Spanish speaking people English and vice versa. Teach and tutor Spanish to those who want to want to learn it. I am blessed to be able to speak both languages.
