Fun Facts

One of my main goals in life is making sure that everyone is happy. I love to make new friends and make people laugh. I have 1 sister. I like music of all types. I like to go fishing, it is a very patient and calming sport. I like to travel, and my favorite place to visit is New York City. One day I would love to travel out of the country and help underprivileged children.

About Me

I am a sophomore student at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am a biology major with a minor in education. My plans after college consist of attending the University of Texas Health Science Center to obtain a masters degree in Occupational Therapy. My long term goals include working at a school as an adolescent Occupational Therapist for students with physical, cognitive, and mental challenges.

In high school, I volunteered every Wednesday at my church for our youth mentor program. Before bible study, all the children were expected to bring in some form of homework to be reviewed and edited so they could receive the highest grade possible upon submission. Also, I am a mentor with the Black Student Leadership Council at the University of Texas.

I am a very visual learner. When understanding subject matters I have to be able to see and understand why I am performing the tasks that need to be completed. I've always felt like I was behind the other students when the teach would just go over study material but not explain in depth. The method I use to teach others is the one that works best for me. I like to work slow and make sure the student understands how and what they are doing in great detail.
