About Me
I am a freshman International Affairs major at Northeastern University, minoring in Economics and Arabic. I am in the university Honor's Program on the Dean's List with a 3.7 GPA. Graduation is still a long way off, but I am interested in going to graduate school and pursuing a career in international business or diplomacy.
I learned the most about teaching from working with special needs children and adults in programs teaching various skills. The most challenging of these was a summer intensive teaching participants to ride a two-wheel bike. I also was a peer mentor for group and individual social skills development programs. This required special training in behavior modification and social coaching.
What I have learned from my experience boston">tutoring, and also being tutored, is that the student should lead the learning. Sessions are most effective when the boston">tutor is tuned in to the needs and learning style of each student. Persistence and patience are very important elements of any kind of teaching. If one method is not working, I move onto the next. The student must believe that their teacher will never give up on them.
