Fun Facts

I was born in a small town called Cabo Frio in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but have lived in Texas since I was twelve (makes for a weird accent!). I am an opera singer, fiction writer, dog owner, and cook; although I'm still working on it, I run with my dog, a French Brittany, and do yoga often. I love classic novels, foreign films, children's literature, and live theatre. I studied German in college and would love to be fluent one day.

About Me

Currently, I am a voice teacher in Round Rock, TX, a freelance musician and tutor. I left full-time teaching so I could devote more time to performing and writing, as well as teaching one-on-one, which I have always loved to do. UT graduate (BA English/BM Voice Performance with honors) and Austin has been home for almost 8 years.

Experience

I have a BM in Vocal Performance and a BA in English with honors from UT Austin. Work professionally as a singer, teach private voice, tutor English and writing, and teach conversational Portuguese. I am certified in and have taught 8th grade English for public schools in Round Rock. I have worked as a freelance tutor/voice teacher for the last 7 years.

Approach

My experience as a student of voice, something that did not come easily to me, and as an 8th grade teacher, which taught me so much about being an educator, inform how I conduct myself as a teacher. My main goal as educator is to be supportive and informative so that students have the tools to be successful not only when I'm there to guide them, but when they encounter challenges on their own.
