Fun Facts
I have played soccer since I was four years old. I absolutely love everything about the sport, was on many teams throughout high school, and have continued playing intramural here at Northeastern University. I also play on an intramural volleyball team, purely for fun. Another interesting fact is that I have been to Uganda twice to do volunteer work.
About Me
I am currently a freshman at Northeastern University. I am majoring in International Affairs, combining it with either Political Science or Economics, and minoring in Global Social Entrepreneurship. My GPA for my first semester was a 3.68. After I graduate, I hope to work for a humanitarian organization or for the UN.
I have not had any formal boston">tutoring experience, however I have had plenty of experience boston">tutoring my younger brother. Also, I was fortunate enough to teach basic lessons to both primary school and high school students in Uganda at Busoga Primary School and Kiira High School. Finally, I participated in an internship at a preschool at Skidmore University in upstate NY, where I was able to individually work with the students with their reading-comprehension/massachusetts/boston">reading comprehension and cognitive skills.
When I struggled in school, it was because I could not understand the way the material was being presented to me, not the material itself. As a boston">tutor, I would be an additional resource for the student, aside from the teacher, that could try to teach them the given subject in an alternative way. My boston">tutoring approach would be slightly different than the approach of the teacher, in attempt to more successfully teach the student the material. I would combine fun learning techniques with effective homework help to ultimately enrich the student's understanding of the subject.
