Fun Facts
Something unique about me is that I love math! I've always been good at it and my proudest accomplishment is finishing Calc I through IV as a high school senior. I also love all kinds of music, I love dogs AND cats, and my favorite food is dill pickles :)
About Me
I graduated with an Associates in science/oregon/portland">Computer Science in 2018 and I consistently made the dean's list at my previous college. Now I'm currently pursuing my Bachelors in science/oregon/portland">Computer Science at Portland State University. After I graduate I'd like to start a career in software development or cybersecurity.
Experience
In high school I tutored other students in math and science as a community service project for National Honors Society. Through college I also tutored my peers in various subjects including math, science, and economics. I understand that subjects in the STEM field are often difficult for a lot of students and I would love the opportunity to help provide students with a supportive learning environment while helping them gain the skills they need to succeed in those classes!
Approach
When I was growing up in school I had a lot of teachers who didn't seem to see eye-to-eye with their students in terms of what help they needed to not just memorize the material, but actually learn it. As a tutor I like to bring a lot of different approaches to the table in order to figure out which method of learning works best of each individual student. Everyone is different and I believe everyone has the potential to succeed when given the right support and assistance.

I took Calculus I, II, III, and IV as a high school senior through a community college via the Running Start Program. I also took Calculus-based physics in college and achieved high grades in each of those classes.
Pre Calculus Tutoring
The Pre-calculus class I took was a College in the High School class meaning it was a college-level class that I took in high school for college credit. I have a tutored a lot of my peer students in pre-calculus over the years.
Algebra Tutoring
Algebra is a concept that is covered continuously through your math career, so naturally I have a lot of experience in doing and learning algebraic concepts. I also have tutored many of my peers in algebra and early math.
Algebra II Tutoring
Algebra II introduces concepts that catches many students off guard like logarithms and more difficult trigonometry. I have helped many students increase their understanding of these concepts and improve their grades in their class.
Calculus Tutoring

Trigonometry Tutoring
Trigonometry was and still is one of my favorite math subjects! A lot of students can find trigonometry challenging because it involves a lot of visual concepts that are often new to young math students. I have helped many students and many of my peers gain a better understanding of trigonometric concepts in tutoring sessions.
Pre Algebra Tutoring
Often Algebra is a shock for students who might not have struggled in math before. My approach to tutoring pre algebra is to help better prepare students for their future algebra classes and improve their conceptual understanding of the material to ensure their success in future classes.
Homework Coach Tutoring
One thing that can be even more challenging for students than school work is homework. It can be difficult for students to focus on work when they are outside of a classroom environment. I've helped students learn time management strategies as well as good motivation systems to improve their homework scores and performance.
