Fun Facts
Although I have never taken a single choir class, singing is a passion of mine. When I need to clean or am home alone, I crank up the music and sing my lungs out. Something about it is so much fun to me. Some of my favorite artists include Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, and Katy Perry.
About Me
I am a sophomore Creative Writing major at The University of Arizona. I finally determined my major this year and I currently have a 3.7 GPA. I was asked to join The University of Arizona Honor Society. I am minoring in Spanish and have a 4.0 in my major and minor. I made the Dean's List last semester and this past semester. I would like to become a Spanish or some type of writing professor at a university on the west coast. My plans are not set in stone but helping others in any way I can will always be in my plan.
As early as middle school teachers would ask my to grade other students papers. In high school I was able to tucson">tutor students in Spanish on a regular basis. About four times a week I would help out different students each day with learning vocabulary words, verbs or even editing their paper. I would also assist other students in my English class in and out of school.I helped them with their word choice, sentence structure, and if I knew the topic, the subject matter. I have always enjoyed helping other students because although it helps them, it helps myself as well. I find that wanting to be a professor in my future, working at Frog tucson">Tutoring will be a significant learning experience for myself.
At an early age I was fortunate enough to find a passion in learning. I always did well in my classes and loved helping other students. I would look at my teachers and view the way they would be calm and patient when teaching their students. When I help other students I am always well aware of being considerate of the student. You need to know the right pace to help the, the tone in your voice, and when to step back and let them figure it out for them self. Giving a student all the answers won't help him/her in the long run. The most efficient way to help a student is to guide them. Be there to give them assistance when they need it and know to stop and watch them understand the material all on their own.
