I love to learn the differences between languages. I want to get certified as a translator so I can work for the government in the future. My favorite thing to do is read a good book. I went to Barcelona last semester to study abroad and can't wait to travel the world.

About Me

I am from Juarez, Mexico and have been living in El Paso, TX since I freshman year of high school. Spanish is my first language, but I am just as comfortable using English. I am a Communication major with a Film Studies minor in Trinity University. My major GPA is a 3.6 and I want to work for the government after I graduate and become a certified translator.

In high school, I tutored girls from middle school and high school. I helped my classmates with math, government, chemistry, and history. In college I tutor some of my friends in spanish and help my classmates to study for different classes. I was also part of a tutoring program that would go to a middle school here in San Antonio for middle school kids who were learning English as a second language.

I like to first understand how the person I'm tutoring learns. For example, if the person is a visual learner, then I would try to find a way to tutor using visual aids. I try to be patient with the people I'm tutoring and don't give up until they have learned the material. I also try to have fun with it. I find that it is easier to learn something if one is relaxed.
