In December 2011, I will be traveling to Israel from ten days to study politics and culture along with nine other students from other various Illinois college

About Me

I am currently a student at North Park University on the north side of Chicago. I will be entering my senior year this upcoming January and I am planning to apply to graduate school to pursue a PHD in political science in hopes of becoming a university professor. Currently, I am completing a double major in political science and history, and have been awarded various grants and scholarships. As one can see, academics is my forte and I have a passion for teaching since I am enthusiastically willing to commit seven additional years of my life to obtaining a PHD to become a university professor.

Having as many nieces and nephews as I have has given me the opportunity to work with students of all ages. Because I have been around kids and teens all of my life, working with them comes natural. Because I am the first in family to attend an accredited four year university, I have been able to chicago">tutor on a wide array of subjects. My chicago">tutoring experience ranges from grade school to high school JR.

Throughout my early and teenage academic life, I struggled with academics because I found it to be threatening and boring. This was mainly due because I had no one to show and tell me otherwise. It wasn't until I matured and reached college that I saw the virtue and value of education. Speaking from experience, taking a fun and non threatening approach will show students that academics is a friend not foe. Getting students to understand that education is relevant to their lives will cause students to see the importance and virtue of education and the way it enriches their personal, social and academic life.
