Fun Facts

In the summer of 2019, I successfully summited Mt. Rainer. The experience of training for the climb, along with studying different mountaineering techniques, taught me the power of seeing along term goal to fruition. When I am not on the trail I like to stay active by walking my dogs and working out.

About Me

I am currently enrolled at Bellevue College pursuing a my second BA in Data Analytics. In July of 2012 I graduated from chicago">Columbia College Chicago with BA in Creative Writing.

Experience

One of my favorite aspects about the creative writing program at Columbia Colleges was that it was deeply collaborative. This allowed for a certain fluidity of ideas. Not only could we contribute to what others were writing, but we also received feedback in a way that helped our stories grow. While in Chicago, I interned at a local magazine that focused on Midwest culture and art.

Approach

I struggled a lot as a young student. Reading was difficult and I always felt behind my peers.It was through the craft of acting;I was exposed to poetry, Shakespeare, as well as many musicals.
When with kids, I try to see what get them excited, and most importantly what helps them think critically about what they are learning.
