Fun Facts

I love painting, drawing, and cooking (and eating!) new recipes in my free time. I have a passion for mental health, and advocate for individuals with mental and cognitive disabilities through leading student organizations and volunteering.

About Me

I am a Neuroscience major, currently in my senior year at chicago">Loyola University Chicago, and part of my college's Interdisciplinary Honors Program. After graduation, I hope to attend medical school and one day open my own Psychiatry practice.

Experience

As a volunteer at the Loyola Tutoring Center, I have tutored numerous adults in English and writing skills to help them prepare for their upcoming GED and citizenship tests. In high school, I worked at the Tutoring Center and assisted my peers with math and science homework as well as many other subject areas. I truly enjoy helping others find the confidence to learn new things, and hope to draw from these previous experiences when I work with future students on behalf of Frog Tutoring.

Approach

I sincerely believe that everyone can learn a difficult subject if they put in the time and effort, and receive extra help when they need it. When I struggled in my Chemistry and Pre-Calculus classes in high school, I sought extra after-school help from my teachers and found that I was, in fact, capable of mastering these subjects. As a tutor, I help students see that they are also capable of mastering tough subjects, and give them the confidence they need to succeed in their classes.

Biology I Tutoring

I completed my college Biology 1 and Biology 2 requirements through my high-school AP curriculum, having earned a 5/5 on the AP test. I am currently a Molecular/Cellular Neuroscience major at Loyola University, so the majority of my curriculum has involved upper-level biology material. In my three years at university, I have completed Cell Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Lab in Psychobiology, Neurobiology, Biology of Sensation & Perception, Ecology, and a number of other biology-heavy courses, having earned above-average grades in all of these courses. I have always been very passionate about learning about both environmental and cellular biology, and hope to take the lessons I have learned in my curriculum with me as I work towards a career in medicine.
