Fun Facts
One of my favorite hobbies is playing soccer. In high school, I was a second team All-American and won state in club 3 times. I also enjoy working with kids with disabilities. In fact, I am currently training to ride across the country this summer in an effort to promote awareness for issues of disability.
About Me
I am a freshman at Texas Christian University with an intended major of business and finance. I began as an engineering major, and my general GPA first semester as such was a 3.793. I hope to graduate from the Neeley Fellows Honors Business Program at TCU and achieve my Masters in Accounting. As far as leadership positions, I was captain of my both my high school and club soccer teams, SGA Spirit Club Chair and assisted my father in running an annual stream-cleaning event from elementary through high school.
As a member of the National Honor Society, my junior year I assisted in my high school's academic learning center after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week by tutoring other students who needed help in Math and English. Other tutors and I would float around from student to student and help walk them through specific obstacles they were encountering. I am seeking another opportunity to help others learn now that I am in college, and am hoping Frog Tutoring will provide me with the opportunity to do so.
I have often found that the best way I learn is through individual interaction with a peer who may have a better understanding of the subject at hand than I do, especially in Math. Discussing multiple vantage points allows a student to see a problem from a different angle, and it is often the smallest step backward that allows the student to take huge strides forward. In English, it never hurts to have another person review a paper, especially grammar errors. My AP English teacher in high school proved to me how minute mistakes can create an entirely different message.
