Fun Facts

I am a water fanatic; I scuba dive, snorkel, am a lifeguard, and anything else in the water. I am an avid reader but only of authors that aren't alive anymore, which is to say, I like the old stuff. I am introverted, but I love the outdoors. I love kids and have seven adored nieces and nephews that know it.

About Me

I am studying Ecology at washington/seattle">seattle-pacific-university">washington/seattle">Seattle Pacific University. I have my Associates of Science in Biology from Green River Community College, where I was in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I hope to get at least my masters in Ecology by hopefully obtaining a fellowship at a yet to be determined University. I am also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.

I tutored three students for two years in math, science, and logic. Two were in junior high and the youngest in elementary. I also assisted them in any projects, specific problems in other classes, or standard tests depending on the need of the student. I also tutored a college statistics student. I have had a couple other positions in supervising children. One as a lifeguard and recreational assistant at a local summer camp; the other as the recreation leader at a local church's Vacation Bible School.

I was a student who had a difficult time in rote memorization, but could grasp concepts easily which I believe is more important in the learning process. I focus on understanding the primary concepts through practice with examples. I tend to form examples specific for the student and vary on the difficulty and complexity to ensure their understanding of the material.
