Fun Facts
I love to sing. I've been singing at my church since before I can remember, and have sung on the choir each year in school. I served as the elected president of my high school's a cappella group for two consecutive years. I had the opportunity of traveling to Spain with my school's chamber chorus group. I received an award in Choral Performance in my senior year of high school. With my church, I have competed in an international competition called Teen Talent and won first place with the choir.
About Me
I am a first year student at St. John's University. My major is International Business. I love to travel and I've had the opportunity to visit to about six countries so far, something I'm truly grateful have done at my age. My hope someday is to be the CEO of a company and to travel the world while enriching myself with all sorts of cultures. Cultural awareness is important because each person is shaped by their identity and differing life experiences. Everyone has a story to be heard.
Experience
Working at a Montessori day camp for the past four years has exposed me to organizing lesson plans that maximize the interactivity and comprehensibility of the age group I'm working with.
In my senior year of high school, I was selected to be a peer leader for a group of 7th grade girls. I met with them on a weekly basis, giving advice and guidance on their skills and habits pertaining to schoolwork and their social climate.
I was initially an English major who revised and strengthened writing.
Approach
My approach involves presenting the content in a way that is relatable to the person I'm working with. When learning alongside a larger group of students, it can be hard for individual students who get lost in the mix. Individual tutoring should cater specifically to the student.
