I am a huge sports fan. In my free time, I watch basketball, football, and volleyball. I also enjoy photography as a hobby. Sunsets and sunrises are my favorite thing to capture...I also love capturing shots of everyday city life in Chicago. My parents divorced when I was young, and it has shaped me into the person I am today- a determined and driven young lady who wants to make a difference.

About Me

I am a senior at chicago">Loyola University Chicago majoring in Biology and possibly minoring in Bio Statistics. I grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago and attended several community colleges before transferring to Loyola. When I graduate, I plan on attending graduate school to receive a Master's degree or a PhD. My career goal is to work in a lab and do research in microbiology and genetics for a living.

I have had chicago">tutoring experience at a Chicago Public School (Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy) located near 25th St. and Western. This was my first time chicago">tutoring kids in math and science and I loved it. Ever since that job, I have been eager to start working with kids again. There is a great deal of satisfaction that I get when a student finally understands a topic that he/she had difficulty in with my chicago">tutoring help. I also like that special connection with each kid, because everyone is different, and I believe that if we work together, we can make the world a better place.

By chicago">tutoring at the high school, I have learned that everyone learns differently. Before we began each chicago">tutoring session, we would give the students brain teasers and puzzles to warm up their brain to get engaged in learning. The way I chicago">tutor best is on a blackboard- giving examples and drawing pictures for the students, because I believe that visual learning is the key to understanding many topics. I like to challenge the kids to come up with answers through reason. I will do all that I can in order for a student to understand the subject. I have even made worksheets, powerpoints, and quizzes that further help the students understand the material. I am very determined to provide my skills is math and science to those in need. I want to help kids and make a difference in their lives.
