Fun Facts
Developed a totally off-grid sustainable farm in Northern Arizona with a friend over the past year and a half. We learned a lot in the process. The farm now has a solar array, a water well, a workshop/barn made from storage containers, and variety of planted food plants and trees, some of which are already producing. It also has a water and cistern system as well as a composting toilet. What a great adventure it has been as well as a learning experience!! It's called Parks Permafarm.
About Me
I'm an experienced educator, tutor, and computer graphics pro. I also drive ride-share and maintain an Airbnb property. I'm currently learning to be a professional painter/artisan (acrylics and oil on canvas).
Experience
I am a self employed digital artist (computer graphics). I have nearly ten years experience teaching and tutoring in the subjects of digital arts, graphics, drafting, drawing and general studies such as math and study skills at a tech college here in Tucson. I have also worked in software development as well.
Approach
Three important responsibilities of a Teacher/Tutor
1) Help student identify how they best learn. Individuals learn in their own unique way.This requires listening skills on the part of the tutor.
2) Make learning fun and engaging. The student is not likely to give up if they are enjoying themselves.This often means varying the teaching method in ways that involve the student's participation. (Avoid just lecturing!!)
3) Keep it industry relevant!! Requires the tutor to stay abreast of trends.
